My "Bull Rider" painting is finally finished, it is painted in oils on a 36" x 48" canvas.
This is my take on Europa, she climbed up on that bull and just rode away.
I think of her face every time I need to gather some inner strength to take on the task at hand.

These are my two dogs, Jack with the white face in front and Poppy looking a little demonic

in the rear, I decided to paint them in the Yorkshire Hills..... even if we three have never been there.

The painting is not really finished yet...... it could use some work around the stone wall :L

I wanted to share it any way. It reminds me of my goals for the coming New Year.

I have to imagine going places...... I have never been.

This is the progress the bloom has made in two days, it starts out a yellow green colour then like blood rushing into veins turns a full deep, dark red......... post another photo tomorrow!

This plant has not bloomed here for over a year and a half, so I will be happy to paint this truant flower once again :)

A few missing knot holes just deepen my passion for the piece.

walking views. I have two border collies and their is no not walking them!!!
No matter how bad I feel the collies need to get out for a least a couple hours and
do what collies do. I have my favourite places and views and
I am just trying it onto see if this is for me.

It clearly is Labrador Retriever week around here,
they are a wonderful dog to paint with all those subtle
plays on the colour black. Brown blacks, blue blacks
and a little tickle of some cool grays and we have
a couple of guys enjoying the sunny part of the yard.

Chris will be here on the weekend, picking up his team from their stay
at the "Paint Pet Camp" but my only question to him is,
How can one dog fit half a province in their mouths?

Look at this little face... so cute!
Her name is Sofie and Matthew has commisioned another pet portrait from me.
It is hot and sunny today in Toronto and I am off to walk the dogs early
so I don't melt later on in the day.
Sooner the better for our walkies so I can get back to painting Sofie!
I painted a watercolour sketch so Matthew can use it as a gift card.

Matthew also wanted me to include in the painting Sofie's favourite stuffed pet duck!
